Stupid People Tricks

I’m trying to sit down and relax and enjoy a nice meal. Well planned. Finished a blog post. After eating, the last of the trash goes out for tomorrow’s collection. A nice tender steak, some mushrooms, balsamic vinegar alternating with red wine vinegar while cooking. A variety of chocolates for desert. All while listening to a nice audio book.

But Noooo.

The stupid people are out in force.

All U.S. adults could be overweight in 40 years.

How bad at math do you have to be to make that kind of statement?

How bad at logic?

Will anorexia be cured?

AIDS?

Bulemia?

Failure to thrive?

Will exercise be banned?

No more endurance athletics?

How stupid do you have to be to not understand that 100% means everybody?

No exceptions.

Maybe this is written by one of those idiot coaches who talk about giving 110%.

If the trends of the past three decades continue, it’s possible that every American adult could be overweight 40 years from now, a government-funded study projects.

“Genetically and physiologically, it should be impossible” for all U.S. adults to become overweight, said Dr. Lan Liang of the federal government’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, one of the researchers on the study.

However, she told Reuters Health, the data suggest that if the trends of the past 30 years persist, “that is the direction we’re going.”

Our tax dollars at work. The people making this impossible claim are doctors.

federal government’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

The Division of Oxymorons, between the Departments of Redundancy Departments.

Research AND Quality are found together in the name, but apparently they are not allowed to be found together in the products of this department.

The Stupidity!

This is what happens when you grade on a curve and nobody understands. Why let that get in the way of giving the least idiotic idiot an A, maybe even an A+.

  1. Rogue maybe you should switch from drinking balsamic vinegar and red wine vinegar to imbibing something a little stronger. That way you’ll be able to tolerate these fools a bit better. ;)Maybe a nice Chianti?

  2. I believe the Wise and Learned Yogi Berra would agree with me that statistics are 90% bullshit; the other half is made-up!

  3. Albinoblackbear,What? No fava beans? In Hannibal, that was a part of his motivation – stupid, rude people. A real Dr. Hannibal Lector would be an interesting medical director to work for. :-)If I were to drink something intoxicating, my inhibitions might be eased, and I might decide to do something gastronomic about the stupid people.Interesting that Anthony Hopkins has played a character who fed a man his own brain (the movie version) and Titus Andronicus, who fed Tamora her children in a pie. Perhaps he is becoming typecast as a cannibalism enabler.

  4. Vince,Yogi’s too worried about the ranger to pay any attention to statistics. Sincerely,Boo Boo

  5. “Perhaps he is becoming typecast as a cannibalism enabler.”And yet, he hasn’t been eaten alive by the critics…:P

  6. Perhaps it is the intimidation factor. Vincent Price played a great role in Theater of Blood. A film about a Shakespearean actor, who takes his revenge on his critics, but only in the style of the great tragedies.

  7. I know how they can figure this!! It’s all shown in Womens Dress Sizes.See, they keep making the sizes smaller, so you have to buy a bigger size, even if you don’t gain or lose any weight – so a size 8 Marilyn Monroe becomes a size 14 Marilyn Monroe, and classified as a blimp even though she still has all the same measurements…They’ll just drop the “normal” range so far down that even skeletal Allie McBeanpoles will be “overweight”

  8. Sewmouse,I think you are on to something. Anna Nicole Smith was the size 14 Marilyn Monroe. OTOH, I don’t really worry about my dress size. My inner beauty shines through. 🙂
